When we become aware of our planet’s fragility and beauty, a cognitive shift in awareness occurs. This short but emotional presentation shows what a few of those that went through the difficult training required to travel away from Earth have to say about The Overview Effect:
I have no words… the only thing that sparks into my mind is “Pale blue dot”… There are a lot of things to say about this, but [ When I was a child / I caught a fleeting glimpse] and I thought it was wrong because [I cannot put my finger on it now], but I’m still hoping, I don’t think that [The child is grown,] and I hope that [the dream is (not) gone.], although sometimes I feel that [I have become comfortably numb.] … But I’m thinking [If only we could all just find serenity], although it is hard, [It would be nice if we could live as one] and if we work together [all this anger, hate and bigotry (will) be gone]. I still hope that [someone is there at the turnstile] to watch for us, all human kind, and we have not [learn(ed) how to smile as [s]you[/s] (we) kill], and we will not learn… Hope there are peoples out there that want to be heroes, and [If [s]you[/s] they want to be [s]a[/s] hero(s) well just follow [s]me[/s] us]…
